In order to achieve good results, you need to be verbally active and show that you are articulate and eloquent, and you need to show that you master the methods taught, learned and used in class.

What this means is that you'll be graded according to what you SHOW. You will not be graded according to what you THINK, but don't show.

You need to be able to employ correct syntax and grammar and relevant vocabulary and terms to convey your thoughts on a given subject. This means that you always speak in complete sentences. You need to show these skills by :

  • Engaging in conversations

  • Giving presentations in various forms

Here's a list of Grades and requirements. But before you find your grade, you should know that if you tend to speak a different language than English, you may deduct at least 1 or two grades from what you could have achieved had you instead spoken English!

-3: You often refuse to even try and when asked find it very difficult to understand thoughts presented to you, and therefore you are often unable to have a conversation.

00: You know relatively few words, which makes it difficult to talk about a topic. You make many grammatical mistakes. Your analysis skills are limited. You very rarely show your skills.

02: You know relatively few words that you find hard to use correctly in a context, but you still manage to share your thoughts on a topic. You make many grammatical mistakes and our analysis skills are limited. You do not show your skills in each lesson, but you try to do so from time to time.

4: You know relatively few words, but you manage to use the words correctly in a context. You make a rather large number of grammatical mistakes. Your analysis skills are limited which makes it difficult to understand texts on a deep level. You show your skills at least 1 time in each lesson.

7: You have a decent-sized vocabulary that you can generally employ appropriately, and your syntax and grammar are correct most of the time.  You are capable of analyzing both fiction and non-fiction but lack the methodological approach that allows for deep analysis and interpretation. You can display your analysis skills in a structured conversation, and you do this at least  1-2 times in each lesson.

10: You have a relatively extensive vocabulary that you can generally employ appropriately and your syntax and grammar are generally correct. You are capable of analyzing and interpreting both fiction and non-fiction using relevant methods. You show your skills consistently through unrestrained and fluent conversation (meaning at least 2-3 times in each lesson)

12: You have an extensive vocabulary that you can employ appropriately and your syntax and grammar are generally correct and have only minor, irrelevant flaws. You are capable of analyzing and interpreting both fiction and non-fiction using relevant methods. You show your skills consistently through unrestrained and fluent conversation (meaning at least 3-4 times in each lesson).
